About Us – Morphology Playing Live Jazz in Suffolk
Morphology is a Suffolk based quartet playing live music influenced by jazz played in 1950s California. If you’re an avid jazz fan you’ll recognise names such as Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Art Pepper and Lee Konitz. If you’re not, you’ll be pleased to hear that our music is bright, breezy and melodic, without the honk and squeak of some hardcore jazz.
Morphology was formed in 2012 and since then we’ve been invited regularly to play at venues across the east of England including:
- Ipswich Jazz Festival
- Lowestoft Jazz Weekend
- Jazz by the Waterfront – St Peter’s Ipswich
- Jazz East at the Alex
- Art for Cure
- Red Rose Chain – Avenue Theatre
- Jimmy’s Farm
- The Crown, Woodbridge
- The Turks Head Hasketon
- Suffolk Food Hall
- Arlington’s Brasserie
All this in addition to numerous private events at all kinds of weird and wonderful locations.
Each band member is an experienced musician in their own right, having played in such prestigious clubs as Ronnie Scott’s, the Vortex and other venues across London, the UK and Europe. However, the proof is in the listening so we’d love it if you watched our video, and listened to samples of the music we play.
